First it was Habitat For Humanity, and now anyone can take advantage of the Aluminum Association's Cans For Causes program.
Recently, Stephanie McGee of Stafford, VA decided to take advantage of the domestic program that provides free bin and bin liners to raise money for the Homes For Our Troups program. As the wife and sister of two members of the Armed Forces, McGee will be setting up bins at her office, local businesses throughout Fairfax County, VA, and at the homes of her friends and neighbors.
According to the Aluminum Association's website, after registering for the program, they will provide the bins and help participants find the recycling centers closest to you. Organizations will then be responsible for taking collected cans to the drop-off centers and collect the money.
